TCS’s 8th grade graduation is a celebration time for students. The ceremony is a Christ-honoring event held in the worship center Tulare First Baptist Church. Graduation guidelines, including clothing requirements, will be given to eighth grade students/parents several months in advance.
In order to promote academic excellence, character development and accountability, the TCS School Board has adopted the following guidelines for 8th grade promotion to high school. Only students who meet all of these guidelines will receive a diploma and be allowed to participate in the promotion ceremony, unless prior arrangements have been made with the school board.
-
GPA of 2.00 or higher
-
complete at least 20 community service hours during the 8th grade school year
-
successfully pass the “Constitution Test” with a grade of 70% or higher
In order for 8th grade students to participate in the graduation ceremony, school accounts must be paid-in-full before the ceremony. This includes, but is not necessarily limited to: tuition, fundraising obligation, after school care, Hume Lake and field trips, hot lunch / snacks and late payment charges.
