Kindergarten students must be five years old by December 1. Kindergarten admittance is subject to the child's readiness. Readiness is determined by a Kindergarten Readiness Assessment and interview with Mrs. Jennifer Petty. Mrs. Petty is Tulare Christian School's Kindergarten teacher and Co-Administrator with 26 years of teaching experience. The administration will determine acceptability upon examination of the readiness test. Because of the strong academic program in Kindergarten, if a student's score is below the school's acceptable level, the family will be asked to delay starting Kindergarten for a year.
At all grade levels, TCS reserves the right to place a child in the grade level that best suits his needs. A short placement test to evaluate the child's academic proficiency may be administered.
Also necessary for enrollment: a copy of the child's latest report card and the last two years of nationally normed tests, such as the S.A.T.10 test, if available. The completed registration form, previous school records, and health forms (including proof of up-to-date immunizations) and a family interview are required before final acceptance.
